Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Minister Debasis Nayak, who earlier represented Bari in the state Assembly, resigned from the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ahead of the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state.
In a letter to BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the former minister conveyed his decision to resign from the primary membership of the regional party with immediate effect.
According to the latest reports, Nayak joined the BJP soon after quitting the primary membership of the BJD.
