Bhubaneswar: A retired Revenue Inspector (RI) of Pallahara Circle under Pallahara Tahasil in Angul district has been convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Angul, for demanding and accepting a bribe from a complainant.
The bribe was allegedly taken for submitting an enquiry report related to the conversion of agricultural land to homestead land.
The court sentenced Sri Kumar Jena to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 2 years and imposed a fine. Following the conviction, Odisha Vigilance will move the competent authority to stop Jena’s pension.
