Bhubaneswar: Prakash Chandra Behera, former Salepur MLA and the Cuttack district unit past president of the BJP, joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday ahead of the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha.
Behera joined the BJD at an event organised at the Sankha Bhawan here.
On March 28, Behera resigned from the BJP saying, I have always tried to do justice to my position and the team has tried to achieve milestones. But I could not give satisfactory results.”
Notably, Behera had contested the 2014 Assembly polls successfully from the Salepur constituency on a Congress ticket. He left Congress in 2019 and joined the BJP.
