Koraput: Former sarpanch of Tala Gumandi panchayat under Narayanpatna police limits was allegedly killed over past rivalry on Thursday night.

Miscreants are reported to have buried the body of ex-sarpanch Singuru Tadingi in his farmland after killing him.

According to sources, he had gone to his farmland last night but did not return home. His family members made a frantic search after he delayed to return home.  His body was found buried in his farmland after hours of searching.

Upon being informed, Lakhmi Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Narayanpatna Police and a dog squad reached the spot and began a probe to ascertain the reason behind the gruesome killing.

It is suspected that miscreants might have killed Singuru over past enmity.
