Bhubaneswar: The Nayagarh police have arrested four accused during investigation into the the July 2 dacoity case at the Indian Bank’s Mandhatapur branch.
The accused are Sagar Moharana, Pramod Nayak, Kartika Barad (50) from Lathipada, and Purna Chandra Prusty (50) from Jamadeipurpatana.
The incident occurred on July 2 at around 5:15 pm when six masked men, armed with pistols, stormed into the bank, terrorizing staff and making off with approximately Rs 27 lakhs. The police registered a case and launched a manhunt.
During the investigation, the police seized a bag containing Rs 20,86,050, a country-made pistol with two bullets, and two Pulsar bikes.
The police have formed three teams under the supervision of SDPO Nayagarh to track down the remaining accused. The accused have been verified to be involved in several criminal cases across different police stations in the district.
