Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall over four districts of Odisha tomorrow.
According to the forecast, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over Sundargada, Jharsuguda, Bargada and Sambalpur districts tomorrow. A Yellow Warning (Be Aware) has also been issued for heavy rainfall at one or two places over Debagada, Anugola, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Boudh and Balangir districts.
In addition, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface winds reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely at one or two places over all the above-mentioned districts.
The IMD has predicted no significant weather for August 20, 21 and 22.
Yellow warnings for heavy rainfall have been issued for a few districts on August 23, 24 and 25.
“Heavy rainfall very is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Nayagada”, read the IMD’s prediction for August 23.
Going by IMD’s prediction for August 24 and August 25, “Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj.”
Meanwhile, depression over Jharkhand and adjoining northern parts of Gangetic West Benga moved westnorthwestwards with a speed of 10 kmph during past 6 hours and lay centred at 08:30 am today, over the same region.
It is very likely to continue to move west-northwestwards across Jharkhand & Bihar and weaken into a well marked low pressure area during next 24 hours.
