Bhubaneswar: A freight train derailed on the fourth line near Rupsa Junction railway station in Balasore district under the South Eastern Railway (SER) zone on Friday.
According to reports, the derailment occurred shortly after the train had completed unloading operations at Rupsa Junction.
On receiving information about the incident, railway officials and technical teams rushed to the spot and immediately initiated repair and restoration work to normalize train movement.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. The exact cause of the derailment is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, rail passengers have been advised to check updated train schedules, as several services in the Balasore region have been rescheduled or temporarily cancelled until the affected track is fully restored and declared operational.
