Bhubaneswar: A French national who landed mistakenly at Soro in Balasore district has become a special guest of some local youths who rescued him near Sindhua dam a few days ago.
The foreigner named Marshal came to India as a tourist. Misled by google map, he wrongly landed in Soro station on his way to Kolkata. Some youths organising a cricket tournament near Sindhua came across him and got to know that he was misled by google.
They rescued him and took him to the village where the foreigner stayed and enjoyed the cricket match everyday. Now, he fell in love with the village and local youths with the cuisine and culture.
“I came from France and Switzerland. I have two nationalities. I am here to visit India, its nature, mountain. I like India and cricket. It is a good day for me. I am lucky to have some good people and good friends from the local who facilitate my visit and guide me,” he said.
The hospitality given by the local youths won the heart of the foreigner. He expressed his interest in staying there till the final day of the tournament.
When he was roaming alone, some locals also informed the police who came and checked the passport visa.
“Some people are surprised to see foreigners which I don’t like. They asked me to go back. Then police came to me and examined my passport and VISA which were valid. I am not a criminal and came here legally,” he said.
Marhsal came to India in November on a tourist VISA. He had visited Delhi, Varanasi and reached Odisha and toured to Puri, Bhubaneswar.
