Bhubaneswar: FundStack 3.0, the annual Startup Investment Summit, an initiative of the Odisha MSME Department, kicked off in the capital city on Tuesday. The first day’s programme began with a round table by Dr Omkar Rai, Executive Chairman of Startup Odisha, Saswat Mishra, Principal Secretary of Odisha MSME Department, and representatives of SIDBI and investment partners.
The round table session discussed at length the evolving startup system in Odisha and the advantages offered by the Odisha Startup Grant Fund (OSGF). It also deliberated on the factors driving the startup initiative and entrepreneurial growth in the state.
Underlining the aims of FundStack 3.0, Dr Omkar Rai said, “The goal of FundStack 3.0 is to seamlessly channel capital to startups through strategic connections with prominent investors.” He added, “The core purpose of this event is not only to unlock funding opportunities for our startups, harness the OGSF effectively but also to provide guidance and mentorship to our startups from prominent investors.”
Speaking on the occasion, Saswat Mishra remarked, “With FundStart 3.0, we invite investors to infuse capital into the growing startup ecosystem of the state. This is an excellent time to invest in Odisha as the state has progressed from strength to strength in every sector during the last few years.”
Later, the day witnessed Panel Pitching in multiple meeting rooms at the venue. Several startup achievers showcased their innovative ideas to leading investment firms, including IvyCap Ventures, Mumbai Angels, Startup Xseed, Unicorn India Ventures, India Angel Network, Inflection Point Ventures, and others.
Around 50 startups from different industries, including Healthtech, Edutech, Deeptech, E-commerce, and food aggregators participated in the event. The top 20 startups participating in FundStack 3.0 got the opportunity to take part in one-to-one meetings on November 22.
