Bhubaneswar: Police have seized ganja weighing over 10 quintals estimated to be worth about Rs one crore and arrested two persons in this connection during vehicle checking near Kamalapur checkgate under Mohana police limits in Gajapati district on Thursday.
The accused persons have been identified as Ramesh Sawalsingh of Chadiapada village under Mohana police limits and Hemant Swain of Badadumbula village under Digapahandi police limits.
According to reports, Mohana police were conducting vehicle checking near Kamalapur checkgate. The accused persons were trying to smuggle the contraband in a pick-up truck. On seeing the police the accused persons while trying to flee the spot were nabbed by the police.
Police said the accused persons were trying to smuggle the seized contraband to Sholapur in Maharashtra.
