Boudh: Police on Friday seized ganja weighing 1,025 kgs estimated to be worth about Rs 10.02 crore from a truck carrying cashew nuts during vehicle checking on Mahanadi bridge at Boudh.
Boudh police have arrested the driver and helper of the truck in this connection and forwarded them to court. The accused have been identified as Sarfaraz Khan and Milan Yadav of Pardi police limits of Maharashtra.
Police have also seized Rs 18,000 in cash and two mobile phones from their possession.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off Boudh police conducted vehicle checking on Mahanadi bridge. A truck coming from Sonepur end was checked by the police. The contraband was concealed under sacks containing cashew nuts.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
