Bhubaneswar: The body of a Plus II first-year girl student was found hanging in a private hostel at Guhalpada under Nimapara police limits in Puri district on Thursday.
Inmates of the girls’ hostel first noticed that one of their friends was hanging inside the room and informed the matter to the hostel authorities.
On being informed, police broke open the door, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
While the hostel authorities said that the girl committed suicide, the victim’s family members alleged that she was murdered. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
