Gold, Silver Ornaments Looted From Temples In Balasore

Balasore: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted three temples under Khaira police station limits in Gagandhuli Panchayat of Balasore district late on Friday night.

According to reports, the miscreants targeted the Jagannath Temple at Rafayatpur village, decamping with three crowns belonging to Lord Jagannath. They also struck at the Laxmi Narayan Temple, stealing two gold and silver crowns along with the temple’s donation box (dana box).

In a similar incident, the robbers broke the lock of the Shiva Temple in Gandua village and took away ornaments adorning Lord Shiva.

On being informed, the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Khaira police station reached the spot and launched an investigation into the series of temple thefts.
