Goods Train Wagon Derails Near Titlagarh, No Casualties Reported

Bhubaneswar: A minor derailment involving a coal-laden goods train was reported between Sikir and Titlagarh stations in the Sambalpur Division of East Coast Railway on Monday.

According to East Coast Railway (ECoR), the incident occurred at around 11:23 am when the rear trolley wheel of the 14th loaded wagon from the locomotive derailed. The train was carrying coal at the time of the incident.

Railway officials said there were no casualties or injuries in the derailment. Soon after the incident, senior railway officials rushed to the spot to assess the situation.

An Accident Relief Train from Kantabanji was also dispatched and restoration work is currently underway on a war footing.

East Coast Railway said passenger train movement has not been affected due to the derailment. Efforts are on to clear the track and restore normal train operations at the earliest.
