Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued show-cause notices to several private hospitals for failing to provide cashless treatment under state health schemes, informed Health Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling the Assembly Legislative Assembly.
Minister’s rely came in response to a query raised by MLA Sagar Charan Das who sought to know about the penalties against private hospitals for failing to provide cashless treatment under state health schemes.
Mahaling informed the House that as of March 2026, the state government has addressed 56 complaints regarding hospital irregularities under the Ayushman Bharat Jana Arogya Yojana- Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana. Following a formal review of the 56 complaints, show-cause notices were issued to the concerned hospitals/facilities. Out of these, 10 hospitals have been suspended and one Hospital has been penalized.
