Bhubaneswar: The State government has declared July 8 as a holiday for banks, banking institutions, all government offices and revenue and Magisterial courts on account of Rath Yatra.
The Revenue and Disaster Management Department has issued separate notifications in this regard.
“On the occasion of Rath Yatra, the Government of Odisha have been pleased to declare that all State Government Offices, as well as Revenue and Magisterial Courts (Executive) shall remain closed on 08.07.2024 (Monday) i.e. the day following the Rath Yatra,” the notification read.
Similarly, all the banks and banking institutions will also remain closed on July 8 on the account of Rath Yatra.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi also announced a two-day holiday for the upcoming Rath Yatra on July 7 and 8.
The Rath Yatra will be observed for two days this year on July 7 and 8, the rare occasion which was observed last in 1971.
