Bhubaneswar: Several important projects in the road, bridge and building sector have been approved and more are awaiting approval in the coming days. If implemented, these will prove to be a milestone in Odisha’s economic development.
In view of this, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan regarding progress of various road projects. The meeting was held today at the conference room of Lok Seva Bhawan. Construction of the Raghunathpur-Trishulia elevated corridor and the elevated road from Studio Chhak to Nuagaon was discussed.
Besides, construction of Pipili-Konark road, first and third phase work of Daya West canal road were also reviewed. Progress of the new alignment linking Bhubaneswar Inner Ring Road with Outer Ring Road, construction of Kalpana Chhak flyover and a new elevated road to ease traffic to Puri were also discussed.
Principal Secretary, Works Department, Sanjay Kumar Singh advised departmental officers and chief engineers to remove bottlenecks in land acquisition and preparation of DPRs to expedite the projects.
Among others, EIC and Special Secretary Sameer Hota, EIC (Civil) Satyabrat Behera, Additional Administrative Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Chief Civil Engineer Manoj Mahanand, Chief Engineer Shivbrat Taria and OBCC Chief Manager Shridhar Rout were present.
