Bhubaneswar: The Labour and E.S.I Department of the Government of Odisha has directed all public and private organisations or business establishments in the State to grant a paid holiday to their employees on the day of the poll.
As per a letter issued by the Department, every person employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or any other establishment and desiring to vote at the General Elections to 3-tier Panchayati Raj Institutions-2022 shall be granted paid holiday on the date of poll.
“All business, trade, industrial undertaking and establishments are hereby instructed to grant paid holiday to their employees on the date of poll fixed for their local area,” read the letter.
Any violation to the above instruction will be treated as an offence. The written application by the employees will be sufficient to show their enrolment in a particular Gram Panchayat, it added.
