Baripada: Tension ran high at Baripada bus stand following a violent clash between two groups which left five critically injured.
All the injured have been admitted to PRM Medical College and Hospital. An argument occurred between two groups over the route permit and running time of a private bus which took an ugly turn later.
The two groups engaged in a bloody clash with knife stabbing and fight.
A private bus owner, Santosh Kumar, said “The owner of Durga Bus violated his bus timing agreement and forcefully entered his bus before the allotted time slot. When other owners opposed it, he along with his goons attacked us with knife”.
Meanwhile, a police team from Bhanjapur police station reached the scene and brought the situation under control. Police also launched an investigation into the circumstances that led to the violence.
On the other hand, the bus services have been disrupted for quite some time in the bus stand.
