Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police in Cuttack on Tuesday night nabbed five dreaded criminals involved in gunrunning.
Police have seized three 9mm pistols, one 7.65mm pistol, one 8mm pistol, 50 live bullets, one car, two motorcycles and six mobile phones from their possession.
Addressing a presser here today, Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra informed that on Tuesday night acting on a tip-off that a deal in firearms was underway Lalbagh police conducted a raid near High Court leading to the arrests and seizure of firearms and ammunition.
The accused persons have been identified as Satyajit Jena alias Kalia (43), Durga Das alias Nanda (46), Mohammad Rahim (25), Sheikh Wasim (35), and Ashiq Samal (32).
The accused have several criminal cases registered against their names at various police stations.
