Balangir: Police have recovered a half-charred and chopped to pieces body of a youth from a closed house Salepalli area of the town.
The deceased has been identified as one Rinku Meher, a mentally retarded youth. The body was recovered from the house of one Markand Meher of Salepalli locality.
According to reports, today in the morning locals informed the police after they noticed a foul stench emanating from the closed house of Markand Meher.
After breaking open the locked door of the closed house, police with the help of a scientific team seized the body.
The torso of the body was lying in the room, while the severed head, arms and legs were packed in seven black-coloured polythene bags.
Deceased Rinku Meher was staying with his father Markand Meher, his mother and a younger brother in a house which they had taken on rent in Salepalli area.
A few days back mentally retarded Rinku had thrashed his father following which Markand was critical and has been undergoing treatment in VIMSAR at Burla.
Since then Rinku was staying alone in the house. Locals said that he was missing for the last three days.
