Nabarangpur: In a shocking and mysterious incident, the body of a young woman buried in a cremation ground was dug up after 42 days and her head was found missing.
Signs of hen sacrifice and worship near the grave have intensified suspicion of superstition and black magic. The incident took place in Narasinghguda village of Nandahandi block in Nabarangpur district.
Nilandri Majhi, a 27-year-old unmarried woman from the village, had died on September 26. Believing that her bones were broken or that God had come, the family buried her in the village cremation ground instead of cremating her.

However, after 42 days, a shocking incident came to light. On Thursday morning, when villagers went to the area, they found the grave dug up. When the family arrived, they found the headless body.
It is alleged that two sacrificed hens and religious items were lying near the grave. The family said some miscreants had taken out the body in the middle of the night and beheaded it.After the incident, the family buried the body again.
There is a lot of talk in the village about whether it was a tantrik ritual or some other secret black magic ritual. The incident has created fear and panic among the villagers.
On the other hand, after receiving the news, Tentulikhunti police reached the spot and started an investigation. Police have recorded the statement of the deceased girl’s brother, Abhimanyu Majhi.
Who did this and why, and what was the purpose behind the beheading, whether it is black magic or some other mystery, the answers to these questions now depend on police investigation.
