Bhubaneswar: A headless, unidentified body was found near the Baramunda Bus Terminal in Bhubaneswar on Sunday morning. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
According to reports, some locals spotted the body lying on the roadside near the bus terminal at around 4 am and alerted the police. Soon after receiving the information, personnel from the Bharatpur and Khandagiri police stations reached the spot and began an inquiry.
During the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the incident may be linked to an accident. However, the exact cause of death and the circumstances leading to the incident are yet to be ascertained.
The body was sent to Capital Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The identity of the deceased is yet to be established.
As part of the investigation, police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to gather clues and determine the sequence of events.
