Baripada: In a shameful incident, a headmaster has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a minor student in Mayurbhanj district.
The incident comes close on the heels of a similar case reported from a school in Bangiriposi block, bringing yet another headmaster’s alleged misdeeds to the fore.
According to reports, the accused headmaster, Srikrushna Patra, allegedly called a Class VI girl student to his office on September 25 on the pretext of closing the doors and windows and misbehaved with her inside the office. After the incident, the victim informed two matrons of the hostel, but they allegedly tried to suppress the matter.
The matter came to light after the victim informed her family members over the phone yesterday. Following this, the girl’s family lodged a written complaint against the headmaster at Raruan Police Station. Based on the complaint, police arrested the accused headmaster from Baripada.
