Heatwave Conditions To Prevail Across Odisha Districts Amid Rain & Thundershower Alert

Bhubaneswar: Even though the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar had predicted an early onset of Southwest Monsoon in the state, heatwave conditions will continue across Odisha for the next few days.

Odisha Weather Forecast:

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 08.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places in south Odisha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph are likely to occur at one or two places in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Balasore, and Bhadrak. Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 09.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places in south Odisha, and one or two places in north Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Bolangir, and Nuapada. Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph are likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, and Dhenkanal. Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 09.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 10.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and one or two places in Kalahandi, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED): Heatwave conditions will likely prevail at one or two places in Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, north coastal Odisha, south Odisha, and one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.06.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.06.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at many places in south Odisha, north coastal Odisha, and a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.
