Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for moderate to intense rain and thundershowers, accompanied by wind speeds of 30-40 kmph (gusting up to 45 kmph), in parts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghpur districts within the next three hours.
“Moderate to intense rain/thundershower with wind speed 30-40 kmph gusting 45 kmph likely to affect some parts of the district of Bhadrak, Balasore, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur within next three hours’, read the IMD warning.
The regional weather office has, meanwhile, advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strikes.
It is pertinent to mention that cyclone Dana, currently brewing in the Bay of Bengal, is expected to make landfall between Bhitarkanika and Dhamra regions between October 24 night and October 25 morning. Under its impact, coastal districts are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall on October 24 and October 25.
