Heavy Rainfall And Thundershowers Expected In Several Odisha Dists

Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain, with thundershowers, is likely to occur in various districts of the state in the upcoming week, forecasted the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its mid-day bulletin on Tuesday.

Very heavy rainfall has been recorded at one or two places over the district of Koraput, while heavy rain at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur & Khurdha of South Odisha.

Light to moderate rainfall has occurred in most places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 35.3°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi, while the lowest minimum temperature of 23.0°C was recorded at Angul.

Weather forecast and warnings for districts of Odisha:

Day 1 (Valid up to 08.30 hrs IST of 17.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and many places over the rest districts.

YELLOW WARNING: (BE UPDATED)

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nuapada, and Malkangiri.

Day 2 (Valid from 08.30 hrs IST of 17.07.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 18.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of South Odisha and at a few places over the districts of North Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING: (BE UPDATED)

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Koraput.

Day 3 (Valid from 08.30 hrs IST of 18.07.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 19.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of South Odisha and many places over the districts of North Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING: (BE UPDATED)

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Puri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur.

Day 4 (Valid from 08.30 hrs IST of 19.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 20.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur in most places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING: (BE UPDATED)

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, Koraput, Kandhamal, and Ganjam, while heavy rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Puri, Nayagarh, Khurda, Nuapada, Bolangir, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Cuttack.

Day 5 (Valid from 08.30 hrs IST of 20.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 21.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur in most places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING: (BE UPDATED)

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, while heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nuapada.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Interior Odisha and many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 08.30 hrs IST of 22.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 23.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.
