Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for several districts in Odisha, predicting heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds tomorrow.
According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Bhadrak, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, and Nabarangapur.
Additionally, thunderstorms with lightning and strong surface winds are expected in Koraput and Malkangiri, with wind speeds reaching 45-55 kmph and gusting up to 65 kmph. Besides, thunderstorms are also predicted in Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, and Gajapati, with wind speeds reaching 35-45 kmph and gusting up to 55 kmph.
Besides, the IMD predicted thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with susty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir and Kandhamal.
“Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj”, read the IMD’s prediction for October 31.
