Jeypore (Koraput): In a striking display of the growing demand for jobs, over 5,600 candidates—including graduates and postgraduates—appeared for the Home Guard recruitment examination in Koraput on Sunday for a post that requires only a Class V pass as the minimum qualification.
According to reports, a total of 7,281 candidates had applied for 125 Home Guard posts in the district. Of these, 5,690 candidates appeared for the written examination held at the Government DAV College ground in Koraput, which commenced at 7 am.
The examination was conducted peacefully under strict supervision, with no untoward incidents reported.
