Jayapur: The Central University of Odisha (CUO), Koraput, concluded its Hindi Maah celebrations and Hindi Workshop-2026 with an emphasis on promoting the use of Hindi in everyday life and official communication.
The programme was organised jointly by the Official Language Section and the Department of Hindi, CUO. Addressing the concluding ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajit Kumar Shasany emphasised the need to encourage greater use of Hindi in daily communication and official work. He urged members of the University community to take an active interest in learning and using Hindi.
Chief Guest Dinesh Pal Singh, Commandant, BSF, Koraput, spoke about the constitutional status of Hindi, its rich literary heritage and its growing use in official communication. He also highlighted the simplicity and accessibility of the language.
As part of the Hindi Maah celebrations, the University organised various competitions for students and children of faculty members, including poetry recitation, essay writing and speech competitions. The winners were felicitated with certificates, mementos and prizes during the concluding programme.
The event also featured a Hindi Workshop-2026, focusing on awareness and effective use of Hindi in official and academic contexts.
