Bhubaneswar: Theatre lovers in the capital will once again get a chance to witness the historical Odia play Ahe Nilashaila at Rabindra Mandap from September 18 to 21.
Presented by Choklate Productions, the production will be performed every evening at 6 pm for four consecutive days. The play, which has already been staged at multiple venues across Odisha and drawn strong audience appreciation, is directed by noted theatre personality Lala Biren Ray.
Ahe Nilashaila tells a gripping tale of devotion and sacrifice, focusing on the challenges faced by Gajapati King Ramachandra Deva II as he strives to safeguard the honour of Lord Jagannath against the designs of Naib Nazim Taqi Khan.
The narrative draws partial inspiration from the acclaimed novel Nila Saila by Sahitya Akademi Award-winning writer Surendra Mohanty. The script has been jointly crafted by playwrights Shankar Prasad Tripathi and Dr. Pratima Hota.
Tickets for the shows on September 18, 19, 20 and 21 are available online through BookMyShow.
