Bhubaneswar: A massive cache of explosives, including detonators, was seized from a cow shed in Raghunathpur under Chamakhandi police station in Ganjam district. The explosives, weighing around 1 quintal, are typically used for blasting big stones or in road construction.
The seizure was made possible after Kandhamal police conducted a vehicle check in Tumidibandha and found some detonators in a vehicle. Upon questioning the driver, police discovered a link to Ganjam and subsequently raided the cow shed. The mastermind behind the illegal trade is currently absconding, while the driver has been detained for further investigation.
Kandhamal police, in collaboration with Ganjam police, successfully seized the explosives and are now investigating the source of these explosives. Further details will be shared in a press conference. The police are investigating to unearth any links to other locations and people involved in the illegal trade.
