Malkangiri: A huge cache of arms, explosives and other items used by Maoists were recovered during a combing operation by security forces in Malkangiri district on Friday.
Reportedly on October 19, on basis of specific information, an intensive search and area domination was conducted by Malkangiri Police in the general area of Tulsi Reserve forest under Mathili Police Station jurisdiction bordering to Odisha-Chhattisgarh.
Today at about 05.05 A.M, one major Maoist dump was uncovered near jungle area of Katwapadar village under Kartanpalli gram panchayat. This has led to recovery and seizure of huge quantity of IEDs, Arms, Laptop/Notebook, Multimeter, Medicines including oral contraceptives which shows exploitative nature of cadres towards females and other incriminating articles.
It is suspected that these articles were intended to making target civilians and security forces. Details of the recovered articles are as follows:

This is a major jolt to the subversive and anti-national design of Maoists in this area. The police suspect that these explosives along with other articles belongs to the Maoists cadres of DKSZC and they were intended to be used against innocent civilians and security forces to carry out their subversive, anti-national activities. In the wake of recovery, further combing and search operations are going on in the area.
