Baripada: In a tragic incident, three people were killed in a road accident near Budikhmari Road on National Highway- 18 under Betnoti police station in Mayurbhanj district.
The unfortunate incident occurred when a bus carrying 20 pilgrims was heading towards Gaya from Hyderabad. The driver of the Bus lost control of the wheels and hit a truck head-on.
The deceased persons include one of the drivers of the bus. Several passengers also sustained injuries. They have been admitted to PRM Medical College and Hospital in Baripada.
There were 20 passengers and two drivers and helpers in the bus.
The deceased driver was Uday Singh of Charminar area in Hyderabad.
According to reports, the passengers are on a pilgrimage to Gaya from Hyderabad.
ADMO Bijay Kumar Das informed that the driver died on the spot while two others died in the hospital during treatment. Another 14 critically injured passengers are undergoing treatment at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital.
