Bhubaneswar: In a major push to industrial growth, the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has allotted land to 37 industrial units, including 24 major projects and 13 MSME proposals.
The approval was given by the IDCO Land Allotment Committee headed by Chairperson Usha Padhee at a meeting held on Wednesday, officials said. The move is expected to accelerate project execution, generate local employment and strengthen regional industrial and supply-chain ecosystems across the state.
To ensure ready infrastructure for smooth functioning of industrial units, Padhee recently inspected emerging industrial estates and strategic corridors in Khordha, Cuttack, Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur district and other locations.
During the visits, she reviewed land development, grading, master planning, power and water supply, road connectivity, freight movement and civic amenities. Special focus is being laid on worker-centric facilities and safe, accessible infrastructure to support the growing workforce, including women employees in manufacturing clusters, the statement said.
The field assessments are aimed at bridging the gap between administrative approval and ground-level implementation by identifying infrastructure gaps and ensuring coordinated action by concerned agencies.
