Identities Of 10 Killed In Fire Mishap At SCB’s Trauma Care Centre Revealed

Bhubaneswar: The identities of 10 persons killed in the SCB Medical College Hospital fire have been revealed.

According to reports, ten persons killed in the fire at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack have been identified as Ramesh Parida, Dasharu Munda, MD Nyum, Gouranga Barik, S K Abdul Sattar, Madhusudan Dalai, Krushnachandra Biswal, Rabindra Das, Cheru Parida and Menka Rout.

It is pertinent to mention that the major fire broke out in the Trauma Care ICU at 2:30am on late Sunday night, killing 10 persons and leaving 5 others critically injured. As many as 23 patients were in the ICU at the time. The cause of the fire is unclear.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire incident at SCB Medical’s Trauma Care ICU and visited the scene.

He has ordered a departmental inquiry into the incident.The CM has condoled the bereaved families and instructed to shift other patients to suitable places and continue treatment. He announced ₹25 lakh ex-gratia to the next of kin of each deceased from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Majhi also met patients undergoing treatment and their relatives, assured them of best care, and directed officials to provide optimal treatment to those shifted from the ICU.
