Bhubaneswar: Illegal arms racket was busted with the arrest of seven criminals and seizure of firearms during multiple raids in Puri.
Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh informed that multiple raids had been conducted at areas under Sadar, Town, and Baliapanda Police Stations.
Seven criminals were arrested during the raid. Four weapons, four live rounds of bullets, mobile phones, and some cash were seized from their possession.
Six of the accused have been identified as Ratikant Parida alias Rusia, Loknath Das, Ashok Sahu, Gudu, Rocky, and Ranjit. Several cases have been registered against them at different police stations.
The multiple raids revealed inter-district links and action over it will be taken soon, said Singh adding that more raids are underway.
He also informed that till date this year, Puri Police has seized a total of 16 weapons and arrested over 50 persons.
