Illegal Arms Trade Busted In Bhubaneswar: One Arrested With Six Pistols

Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough on the illegal firearms trade, the Special Crime Unit of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack has confiscated 6 semi-automatic pistols, 10 rounds of live ammunition, and arrested a key suspect, Papu@Manoj Kumar Mallick from Jajpur.

According to a release issued by the Police Commissionerate, the operation, conducted at 2 am near Kuji Mahal Play Ground under Chandaka police limits, was based on a tip-off. The police also seized six magazines, a mobile phone, a two-wheeler, and Rs 500 in cash.

The suspect is being interrogated to reveal more about his operations and network. The police are working to trace the supply chain, identify financial backers, and uncover broader networks involved.

The accused will be presented before the court as a thorough investigation.
