Balasore: The Civil Supplies Enforcement Squad of Balasore on Monday conducted a raid on a gas agency near Ice Factory Square in Soro area of the district and seized a large number of LPG cylinders allegedly stored illegally.
Acting on multiple complaints regarding unauthorised storage and irregular supply, officials of the District Supply Department carried out a search at a gas godown in the locality and seized as many as 989 cylinders.
According to reports, several consumers had alleged that despite booking LPG cylinders for domestic use, they were not receiving deliveries on time. It was further alleged that the agency was indulging in black marketing by diverting the cylinders and selling them at inflated prices.
Taking serious note of the allegations, a team led by Civil Supplies Officer (CSO) Narasingh Panda, along with Soro Supply Officer Debashis Kar, conducted the raid and unearthed the illegal stock.
