Illegal Sawmill Busted In Cuttack; Machinery And Timber Worth Rs 11L Seized

Cuttack: The Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance conducted a raid on an illegal sawmill operating in village Kadampada under 42 Mouza Police Station limits in Cuttack district on Monday.

Acting on a specific tip-off, the vigilance team raided the sawmill, which was running without any valid license. During the operation, the Vigilance sleuths seized sawmill appliances along with a large quantity of valuable timber measuring 136.844 cubic feet, valued at approximately Rs 10,98,639.

The seized items include both the machinery used in the illegal operation and the illegally procured timber.

Further investigation into the case is underway, and a detailed report is expected soon.
