Bhubaneswar: A wet spell is expected to sweep across western Odisha in the next three hours, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by lightning in seven districts.
Going by IMD prediction, several districts including Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar will experience light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by lightning in the next three hours.
Several parts of the state have been experiencing light to moderate rain and thunderstorms since Thursday night. The IMD has predicted that this rainfall activity will continue for the next 24 hours, potentially disrupting normal life in some areas.
IMD has, meanwhile, issued a yellow warning to 12 districts including Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Balasore, and Bhadrak. There is a possibility of heavy rain in some places in these districts. These districts are likely to receive 11 centimetres of rain may occur in these districts on Friday.
