Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has issued a moderate to dense warning in 10 districts of Odisha during the next two days.
The MeT Dept has predicted occurrence of fog in Khurda, Puri, Jagsinghpur, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Koraput and Cuttack on Tuesday.
The weather office has also predicted that light to moderate fog may occur in Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagsinghpur, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Sundargarh on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, with the return of cold wave in some parts of Odisha, Lamtaput block in Koraput district witnessed snowfall on Monday. The night/minimum temperature dropped below 5°C in the area on Sunday. Snowfall was witnessed at multiple places of the block.
G Udayagiri was the coldest place in the state on Sunday night recording a night temperature of 4.8°C followed by Semiliguda (7.2°C), Daringibari and Jharsuguda (9°C), Rourkela (9.5°C), Bhadrak (10°C), Keonjhar (10.4°C), Koraput (10.5°C), and Bhawanipatna (10.6°C). The weather department has said that the winter chill will continue in the state for the next 4 to 5 days.
