Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning for several districts in Odisha, predicting thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds on November 1 and 2.
Going by the IMD prediction meant for November 1, thunderstorms are likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts.
The warning remains in place for November 2, with thunderstorms predicted in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts.
“Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj”, read the IMD forecast for November 2.
