Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a yellow warning for dense fog likely to occur during the early morning hours at isolated places in several districts of Odisha.
As per the IMD’s mid-day weather bulletin, dense fog is very likely to prevail in Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Dhenkanal and Nayagarh on December 27.
In addition, shallow to moderate fog is expected during early morning hours at isolated locations in Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Koraput, Kalahandi, Balangir, Sonepur, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur.
The IMD further stated that dense fog conditions are likely to continue in Sundargarh, Dhenkanal and Nayagarh on December 28 and 29. Similar weather conditions may extend to Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur on December 30 and 31.
The department has advised people to remain cautious, particularly during early morning travel, and to take necessary safety measures amid reduced visibility.
