Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted that rainfall will decrease in Odisha from today as the depression over Jharkhand and adjoining north Chhattisgarh moved west-northwestwards with a speed of 12 kmph during the past six hours and lay centered at 0530 hours IST on Thursday over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood near latitude 23.4°N and longitude 83.4°E, about 40 km north-northeast of Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh) and 190 km east-southeast of Sidhi (East Madhya Pradesh).
It is likely to move west-northwestwards towards northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining southeast Uttar Pradesh and weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area during the next 12 hours.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for three districts of Odisha today. These districts are likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall in the next couple of days. These districts include Sundargarh, Bargarh, and Jharsuguda. No orange or red warning has been issued for today.
