Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Nuapada during the next 24 hours. The weather agency has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for these districts.
Besides, light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur in most places over the districts of south interior Odisha and at many places over the rest districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, the weather agency has stated in its forecast.
The IMD in its forecast for Bhubaneswar and its neighbourhood has said that during the next 24 hours, the sky will be generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
Meanwhile, the depression (Remnant of Cyclonic Storm “MICHAUNG”, pronounced as MIGJAUM) over Northeast Telangana and adjoining south Chhattisgarh-south interior Odisha-Coastal Andhra Pradesh moved slowly north-northeastwards during past 06 hours and weakened into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the same region at 8.30 AM today, the IMD said.
The system is likely to continue to move nearly north-northeastwards and weaken further into a Low Pressure Area during next 12 hours, the IMD added.
