Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a continuity of light to moderate rain throughout the State with scattered thundershowers in six districts till July 5.
Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghpur districts may witness thundershower due to nor’wester impact.
The regional centre of IMD has also predicted a significant increase in rain in the State from July 6 onwards.
Maximum precipitation is expected in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, and Koraput districts along with further continuity of rainfall in the areas.
Daringbadi hill station of Kandhamal district received the maximum rainfall of 64 mm between 8:30 am yesterday and this morning.
Meanwhile, 47 mm of rain was recorded in Cuttack, 45 mm and 25 mm in the Balikuda and Kujang area of Jagatsinghpur, 29 mm in Kalahandi and 28.8 mm in Bhawanipatna, and an average rainfall of 34.2 mm in Sundergarh district.
