Bhubaneswar: The India Metereological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm activity in Odisha for the next two days.
As per the forecast valid upto 08:30 am of October 10, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj.
Similarly, for the period from 08:30 am of October 10 to 08:30 am of October 11, the yellow warning for thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj will remain in force, IMD said.
The weather department has advised people to remain aware and take necessary precautions during the thunderstorm activity.
