Bhubaneswar: The IMD has predicted thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, and Angul districts during the next 24 hours.
A yellow warning has been issued by the Met Department in this regard. Also possibility of Heavy Rainfall over the districts of Keonjhar Mayurbhanj, and Balasore has been predicted during the same period, the IMD stated.
The western end of Monsoon Trough runs close to foothills of the Himalayas and its eastern end at mean sea level passes through Baharaich, Sitamarhi, Kishanganj and thence eastwards towards Manipur, the IMD stated.
The trough from east Bihar to northwest Bay of Bengal now runs from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim to northwest Bay of Bengal across West Bengal and extends upto 3.1 Km above mean sea level. The cyclonic circulation over northeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining northwest Bihar at 3.1 km above mean sea level has become less marked.
Capital City Bhubaneswar is likely to experience a partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorm. Maximum and minimum temperature in the city is very likely to be around 36 and 26 degrees respectively.
