Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh warning for fishermen, advising them not to venture into the sea along and off the North Odisha Coast on April 26 and 27.
According to the warning issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre, squally weather with wind speeds reaching 45-55 kmph and gusting up to 65 kmph is very likely to prevail along and off the North Odisha Coast on Day-4 and Day-5 (26th and 27th April 2026). Sea conditions are also likely to turn rough to very rough during these two days.
The IMD has cautioned that such weather may pose serious risks to fishing activities. Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea along and off the Odisha Coast on April 26 and April 27.
This alert comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of fishermen and their boats amid expected squally conditions and rough seas. The IMD has urged all fishermen and boat operators to take the warning seriously and remain ashore during the specified period.
